MRS. JANE RATCLIFFE died at her home in Des Moines on Friday evening, April 21, 1905, after an extended illness with creeping paralysis. Deceased was a a former resident of Cedar Township, this county. The remains were brought to this place Saturday evening, accompanied by her cousin, MRS. SALLIE SALES, and on Sunday forenoon at 10 o'clock funeral services were held at Bethel Church.

JANE SELLERS was born in Putnam County, Indiana, on September 5, 1846. Several years of her life were spent in this county and she was married here on April 8, 1895, to JONATHAN RATCLIFFE, who survives her but is in a very critical condition, suffering with a cancer. After her marriage deceased resided in Garden Grove until about a year ago when she and her husband moved to Des Moines where they could have better medical treatment. MRS. RATCLIFFE also leaves five brothers and one sister to mourn her death. The sorrowing relatives have the sympathy of a host of friends throughout the county in their great grief. Deceased was a lady possessing many amiable qualities and her kindness of heart won for her the high regard of all with whom she came in contact. The news of her death brought sadness to the hearts of many friends here.
